Architect Robert Fan Wenzhao and the design of Chung Chi campus

摘要: In about 1949, there was a large-scale migration of architects from the mainland to Hong Kong, China. Among them were those important figures in the modern Chinese architectural history such as Robert Fan, Su Gin-Djih, and Chu Pin. Their arrival at this colony had changed its architectural practice substantially from professional organization to actually built environment. Their unique contributions to Hong Kong’s modern architecture have been a new research interest in recent years. This paper tells a story about Robert Fan and his design of the Chung Chi College campus in the 1950s with an intention to reveal the multiaspects of the so called “migrant architects” through a single architectural event. The author tries to capture the intertwining relationship between the migrant architects and educators through the reconstruction of the recruitment process for a campus architect by Chung Chi College and to identify Mr. Robert Fan’s concept of campus planning with reference to his early design experience in the mainland of China.

Analysis of energy saving optimization of campus buildings based on energy simulation

摘要: The energy consumption of campus buildings has specific characteristics, because of the concentrated distribution of people’s working time and locations that change in line with distinct seasonal features. The traditional energy system design and operation for campus buildings is only based on the constant room temperature, such as 25°C in summer and 18°C in winter in China, not taking into consideration the real heating or cooling load characteristics of campus buildings with different functions during the whole day and whole year, which usually results in a lot of energy waste. This paper proposes to set different set-point temperatures in different operation stages of public and residential campus buildings to reduce the heating and cooling design load for energy station and total campus energy consumption for annual operation. Taking a campus under construction in Tianjin, China as an example, two kinds of single building models were established as the typical public building and residential building models on the campus. Besides, the models were simulated at both set-point room temperature and constant room temperature respectively. The comparison of the simulation results showed that the single building energy saving method of the peak load clipping could be used for further analysis of the annual energy consumption of campus building groups. The results proved that the strategy of set-point temperature optimization could efficiently reduce the design load and energy consumption of campus building groups.

Assembly design system based on engineering connection

摘要:

An assembly design system is an important part of computer-aided design systems, which are important tools for realizing product concept design. The traditional assembly design system does not record the connection information of production on the engineering layer; consequently, the upstream design idea cannot be fully used in the downstream design. An assembly design model based on the relationship of engineering connection is presented. In this model, all nodes are divided into two categories: The component and the connection. Moreover, the product is constructed on the basis of the connection relationship of the components. The model is an And/Or graph and has the ability to record all assembly schemes. This model records only the connection information that has engineering application value in the product design. In addition, this model can significantly reduce the number of combinations, and is very favorable for the assembly sequence planning in the downstream. The system contains a connection knowledge system that can be mapped to the connection node, and the connection knowledge obtained in practice can be returned to the knowledge system. Finally, VC++6.0 is used to develop a prototype system called Connect-based Assembly Planning (CAP). The relationship between the CAP system and the commercial assembly design system is also established.

Toward autonomous mining: design and development of an unmanned electric shovel via point cloud-basedoptimal trajectory planning

摘要: With the proposal of intelligent mines, unmanned mining has become a research hotspot in recent years. In the field of autonomous excavation, environmental perception and excavation trajectory planning are two key issues because they have considerable influences on operation performance. In this study, an unmanned electric shovel (UES) is developed, and key robotization processes consisting of environment modeling and optimal excavation trajectory planning are presented. Initially, the point cloud of the material surface is collected and reconstructed by polynomial response surface (PRS) method. Then, by establishing the dynamical model of the UES, a point to point (PTP) excavation trajectory planning method is developed to improve both the mining efficiency and fill factor and to reduce the energy consumption. Based on optimal trajectory command, the UES performs autonomous excavation. The experimental results show that the proposed surface reconstruction method can accurately represent the material surface. On the basis of reconstructed surface, the PTP trajectory planning method rapidly obtains a reasonable mining trajectory with high fill factor and mining efficiency. Compared with the common excavation trajectory planning approaches, the proposed method tends to be more capable in terms of mining time and energy consumption, ensuring high-performance excavation of the UES in practical mining environment.

Initial research on planning and design of today's Buddhist temple

摘要: Starting from the reconstruction planning for the Chongyuan Temple in Suzhou Industrial Park, the planners explored the elements of contemporary Buddhism architecture planning and design in terms of the social multi-requirement, environmental utilization fitted for a given time and place, appropriate temple pattern on specification and institution, functional division for harmonic relationship between monks and laymen, etc. For realization of historic mission: carrying forward the cultural tradition and constructing harmonic society, this paper proposes some principles of creation, which have historical evidence and are keeping pace with the times.

设计结构矩阵在复杂产品协同设计过程的应用

枢纽港—物流港联动的罗泾港区规划设计创新

摘要:

新近建成的上海港罗泾港区是集矿石、煤炭、钢铁等散杂货物为一体的综合性港区,是世界上第一座公共港区为大型钢铁企业提供分拨配送等增值服务的物流港区。罗泾港区规划设计开发了全新的“枢纽港—物流港”联动的平行结构平面布置模式。在传统的公用港口布置方法基础上,运用准时制(JIT)的精益生产(LP)物流理念,优化装卸工艺和港口平面布置,提升服务水平,延伸港口服务链条;实现了物流流程的高度一体化、同步化;节约了极为宝贵的深水岸线和土地资源、降低了能耗。

三峡工程移民安置规划与实践

摘要:

长江三峡工程成败的关键在移民,移民搬迁安置顺利实施的保障是移民安置规划和有效的组织管理。移民安置规划及实施过程中,通过建立系统的法规、文件支撑体系,引入环境容量分析和资产评估方法,科学选址,准确把握移民补偿与地方发展之间关系,编制合理的迁建进度计划等;同时建立高效的管理体制和“静态控制、动态管理”的资金管理方式,根据实际情况变化适时依法调整规划等,顺利完成了移民搬迁安置任务,维护了库区社会稳定,促进了库区经济发展,推动了水利水电工程建设征地移民法规、规范、技术的发展和完善。还对移民安置理论、移民安置前瞻性工作进行了探讨。

舰船装备保障系统规划模型研究

摘要:

针对舰船装备保障系统规划的系统性与复杂性,基于装备保障工程实践,研究提出了舰船装备保障系统规划模型,将规划要素分解为保障需求、能力建设和组织实施三个方面,并建立了核心问题的分层结构与映射关系。构建了舰船装备技术保障任务框架体系,设计了舰船寿命期修理结构论证模型,探索了舰船装备维修设计方法,突破了舰船装备保障系统规划的关键技术。该规划模型能够为研制阶段同步开展舰船装备保障系统配套建设,有序推进技术保障工作,加快形成保障能力提供理论支撑。

基于成本-安全均衡的川藏高速公路规划设计方法研究 Article

山区高速公路的规划设计是通过合规性检查来保障其运营安全的。然而,仅仅依赖于合规性检查会误导工程设计人员在实际操作中选取符合规范的且成本造价最低的方案作为最终的设计方案,而该方案的整体风险水平却是未知的,这将给项目运营带来巨大的安全隐患。本文提出了一种基于成本- 安全均衡的高速公路规划设计方法,该方法主要包括以下四个步骤:① 分别提取项目成本与安全的影响因素,以少量参数化的方式来表达高速公路的设计方案;② 建立风险因素与项目成本之间的预估方程式;③ 通过构造事故树模型,在众多设计参数中识别出风险因素;④ 将可接受风险分析理论引入交通安全评价中,提出了一种在可接受风险范围内求解具有成本效益的最优解的算法,以帮助管理者决策。该方法在位于海拔梯度大、山脉范围广的川藏高速公路工程项目中得到了应用和验证。实验结果表明,该方法显著提高了项目设计的安全性以及成本效益。

Development of a BIM-based production planning and control system for Lean Construction through advancement

摘要: As part of general construction management, production planning and control is vital for successful project delivery. Numerous approaches supporting production planning and control exist in practice and research. However, the different approaches focus on distinct areas such as workflow stabilization or cost control, and no single system combines all the requirements of a holistic production management system. Varying production management systems can be explained by the unique characteristics of many construction projects. As an approach for the digital twinning in the construction industry, building information modeling (BIM) can help standardize production management through shifting the management system design toward the digital prototype. Previous scientific work has acknowledged this approach, thereby generating numerous concepts for using building information models within construction management approaches. However, BIM is often merely used as a parallel support rather than as an integral part of production management systems. To address this gap and in terms of research methodology, we follow a Design Science Research approach. Thus, we propose a new BIM-based production management system, which is characterized by a theoretical integration model for BIM and existing construction management techniques, and a methodology for applying these concepts in practice.

Case study of data-oriented approach for building energy performance investigation

摘要: The key parameters that may influence building energy performance is studied by comparing the building energy data of college buildings in two different regions (the USA and China). By introducing data-orientated approach, a study of a set of on-campus building energy demand and consumption is conducted for cooling, heating and electricity. In addition, the heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) and lighting systems are studied in great detail. The breakdown analyses of the current energy consumption data are used to focus the investigation on critical issues. The analysis shows that the energy consumption of college buildings in the USA can be 3–5 times more than that of college buildings in China. The over-high energy consumption in campus buildings in the USA is mainly caused by operation schedule, system style, cooling and heating counteraction and sensor/actuator faults in the control systems, which also leads to the discussion of energy difference on the concept of “full control” or “local improvement” in building environment control. The study also indicates that the building energy efficiency can only be achieved by adjusting the demand according to natural conditions, encouraging green life behaviors, and developing relative technical solutions coordinated with the thrift culture and human behavior.
